NEW LEAF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH YOUTH GROUP
YOUTH NEWS
Sunday 8/29/10: We are headed to
Adventure Zone in Geneva, Ohio. Youth will leave
the church parking lot at 3pm. Cost for each
youth to attend will be $5.00. A small snack
will be provided for youth on our way home.
Don’t forget your new medical forms and
permission slip.
Saturday 9/05/10: Labor Day weekend, No
Youth Group tonight.
Tuesday 9/07/10: Last day to RSVP to
Acquire the Fire event for November. We need to
purchase tickets in advance.
Sunday 09/12/10: Youth Fellowship meeting
at New Leaf UMC 6-7:30 pm, friends are welcome.
Sunday 09/19/10: Youth Fellowship meeting
at New Leaf UMC 6-7:30 pm, friends are welcome.
Elections Tonight!!!!
Saturday 09/25/10: Alpaca Farm Days. We
will be our Alpaca Farm Days fundraiser. We will
be headed out to Terry and Glenda Lowe’s Alpaca
farm located off route 7. We will be selling
food and drink and be in charge of several
activities throughout the weekend. Youth are not
required to attend the farm both days from start
to finish. We will have a signup sheet with
times located in the youth room. We need to make
sure that we fill up all of the time slots.
(Youth Fundraiser) 11am – 6pm.
Sunday 09/26/10: Alpaca Farm Days (Youth
Fundraiser) Noon-6pm. No Youth from 6pm –
7:30pm.
Sunday 10/03/10: Youth Fellowship meeting
at New Leaf UMC 6-7:30 pm, friends are welcome.
Sunday 10/10/10: District Hayride and
Corn Maze.
The weekend of 11/5/10, we will be
attending Acquire the Fire in Cleveland Ohio. We
must arrive at the event at 6pm on Friday
11/5/10 and it will end at 9:30pm on 11/6/10.
Tickets for Acquire the Fire will be purchased
on 9/7/10. I must know before that day if you
plan to attend. We will be staying in a
hotel near the Wolstein Center Friday night. We
will return back to town late Saturday night.

SO… What’s happening with our Youth Group?
It is time to start our new year of youth and I
am so very excited! The youth leaders of New
Leaf Church have been busy getting ready for
your return. Our youth group time will now be
from 6-7:30pm on Sunday nights. We have
added a half an hour to our time together
because there is always so much to do. Another
change that will be happening this year is that
our JR High, SR High devotion will be separate.
We plan to meet together at 6pm for our council
meeting and the introduction of the night’s
devotion. At 6:30 our one large group will split
into two; JR High, SR High for further
fellowship and fun. Both groups will meet back
together around 7:15 for closing. Because our
group continues to grow we will be adding new
youth leaders to our group. At our September
12th meeting, youth will be introduced to our
new team.
Start Thinking Ahead:
Elections will be held on Sunday 9/19/10.
SR High will be able to run for President, Vice
President, and Secretary. JR High will be able
to run for JR High Representative. Anyone in our
group can run for a position that night. You
must be prepared to say a few words to the group
of why you should be elected and answer a few
short questions from the group. Feel free to be
creative during your time to speak to the group.
