Greetings from NEW LEAF CHILDCARE….
Hello there New Leaf family and friends! Yes it has been a few months since I last gave all of you a written update. The center ended the year with all our bills paid in full (Big Praise to God for his provision)! Another Praise to God that we were able to pay over $28,000.00 to the church to help pay utilities and other shared expenses! God has blessed us greatly and I pray He continues to shower us with His blessings so that we can shower His love onto others.
There are a few new things taking place at the center this year (dates & times will be published upon confirmation) that might just be a way for you to be able “to rub elbows”, as Pastor Scott would say, with our families. The first thing that will be coming up soon will be our Literacy Event. We are planning this as a Pajama Party Event for our families. The plan is to have the families bring the kids dressed in their pajamas while we have a bedtime story area where they will be read a story and parents will be shown how to make this a family fun & bonding time. There will then be an activity area where the children will do different activities related to the whole bedtime routine. Finally, the children will be stopping in at the decorate a cookie station so they can decorate their own cookie and then eat it along with drinking a glass of milk. This will be held here at New Leaf in the Event Center sometime in the month of April. Our next event that you can “rub elbows” with families is our safety event. We are focusing on food/picnic safety with a bit of summer safety thrown in. The plan for this event is to invite the families to come out to a picnic here on a Saturday early afternoon. We will have displays and stations set up on how to keep food safe at picnics, sparkler safety (for the kids) and hopefully stations for water safety, bike safety and maybe even simple first aid safety. I am inviting each of you to come out and get to know the families we serve, make connections with them and invite them to join us on Sundays. You never know, you may just be the person God has decided to use to make that connection and open their hearts to His love and salvation.
If you are looking for ways to connect to the center and help us out here are a few ways you can do that: we need children’s clothes sizes 3T through 5T, bottoms more than tops; we collect Box Tops for Education; and we will be starting our Mile of Money, where we see if we can collect a mile of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. There will be a collection container for this as well as a border to track our progress for this project.
We invite you all to join in any of our activities and “rub those elbows” and show God’s Love.
In Christ’s Love,
